Faith is a distinctly human trait. I am fascinated by the idea that what I am photographing here, right now, is reflective of patterns that exist across cultures, radiating outward through the whole history of human consciousness.

Faith can be perceived as a dividing factor between cultures, often used in a polarizing way by nefarious political actors. But I think the bigger picture reveals that the call of faith itself is part of human nature, something we have in common with one another.

I am drawn to these connections.
